Calling all budding dog trainers! 🐾

Does your child love dogs and want to learn more about how to train them?

Junior Trainers Club is a fun, hands-on Mini Workshop for children aged 7+, where they’ll discover how dogs learn, practise some brilliant training games and learn how to become a great training partner for their dog.

This isn't about children simply getting their dog to follow instructions. We'll help them understand how to communicate with their dog, recognise what their dog is telling them and make training fun for both ends of the lead.

During the workshop our Junior Trainers will:

• Learn how to use rewards and a clicker/marker to train their dog
• Discover how reward placement can help their dog learn
• Teach their dog some fun tricks and behaviours
• Play recall and engagement games
• Have a go at a fun training challenge
• Learn how to use play and different rewards
• Discover some of the amazing things their dog's nose can do
• Learn some simple dog body language
• Recognise when their dog needs a break or a little more space
• Put their new skills to the test in our Junior Trainer Challenge

Exercises will be adapted to suit the individual dog and child, so there's no pressure to keep up with anyone else.

Who is it for?

Junior Trainers Club is suitable for children aged 7 years and over who would love to learn more about training their family dog.

No previous dog-training experience is needed, and your dog doesn't need to know lots of tricks – we'll meet each partnership at their own level.

An adult must accompany each child throughout the workshop and remain responsible for their dog.

Every Junior Trainer will receive a clicker to take home and a Junior Dog Trainer certificate at the end of the session. 🏅
